Your Pregnancy-to-Parenthood Road Map

Not sure where to start? Our visual journey map can guide you through each trimester and postpartum phase with classes, groups, and services mapped to your timeline.

Month 1 – The Hidden Beginnings

In the very first month, your body is already working hard, even before you see that positive test. Fatigue, emotional swings, and subtle symptoms are all part of these early days.

Week 0-4

Month 2 – Quiet Shifts

Though the world can’t see it, your body is changing rapidly. Nausea, fatigue, and food aversions are common as your baby begins to grow.

Week 5-8

Month 3 – Emotional Highs and Lows

Your emotions may feel unpredictable, as joy, worry, excitement, and fear often overlap. These feelings are normal and valid.

Week 9-12

Month 4 – Body in Transition

Your belly starts to show, and your energy may begin to rebound. With these changes come new questions about your body and your baby.

Week 13-17

Month 5 – Planning Pressure

Registry planning, baby names, and nursery ideas might feel exciting or overwhelming. Remember: this is your journey—do it your way.

Week 18-21

Month 6 – External Calm, Internal Storm

You may look calm and glowing on the outside, but inside, you might be processing fears or pressures. That’s okay, space for both is allowed.

Week 22-25

Month 7 – Heavy with Anticipation

As the third trimester begins, your body feels heavier and sleep may get tricky. It’s okay to lean on others and ask for help.

Week 26-29

Month 8 – The Invisible Load

Hospital bags, birth plans, and visitor lists grow, alongside worries about labor. You don’t have to carry it all yourself.

Week 30-33

Months 9 + 10 – Holding it All

Every twinge makes you wonder if it’s time. Protect your peace and trust your body’s timing.

Week 34-?

Weeks 1–6 Postpartum

Healing takes time. Pain management, bleeding, and latch issues are common. Lean on your support network and ask questions.

Weeks 7–12 Postpartum

You’re finding your rhythm. Feeding routines and return‑to‑work plans take shape.

Months 3–12 Postpartum

Your baby is growing fast, and so are you as a parent. From first foods to CPR, these months bring milestones and new joys.

I cannot say enough good things about Beyond Birthing! After having a difficult delivery with my daughter, we sought out help from Sarah Gregory who then connected us with the chiropractic practice just next door. I then started going to the new parent support group to try and meet people with babies my age, especially since moving to the north shore and not knowing anyone. Having all resources under one roof has been so helpful and such a timesaver. Plus, Erin is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to everything both pre and postpartum. I cannot recommend them enough!

Beyond birthing is truly amazing! They have so many different services for during pregnancy, after pregnancy and more. Classes for grandparents, lactation help, dad's and yoga! The baby feeding Café they have multiple times a week is amazing. It's the perfect place to bring baby and feel human again while you're going through all the postpartum things. Erin has done an amazing job putting this business together. I am so happy I found this place and Erin as she personally had helped me with my baby and continues to do so for many other families.

Beyond Birthing has been such an amazing support for me pre & postpartum. I did my birth prep class & prenatal yoga classes here, which were so helpful. Postpartum I started going to new parent support group with my baby at four weeks old and it has truly changed my postpartum experience for the better. We have also used the sleep consultant, lactation consultant, and new dads group, all of which have been amazing for building our village. We are so thankful we found this amazing community!!!

I’ve taken two classes with Beyond Birthing- Fundamentals of Birthing and Spinning Babies. Both classes were amazing, well worth the time spent, and did a great job involving partners in the process. Spinning babies was a really fun interactive class focused on how partners can support the birth process. We both feel much more prepared for what’s to come and would highly recommend to anyone who is expecting.

Being newly postpartum with my first child, I was seeking a community and a "village" that I didn't have inherently with family. I found this and so much more at Beyond Birthing! Erin is passionate about helping new moms from education, to camaraderie, programming and more. It is such a special and welcoming community that I wish every mother could have!

We had a wonderful experience at Beyond Birthing! I left feeling empowered and informed. Erin is incredibly personable and makes breastfeeding feel not only accessible, but also made it fun and engaging. The three hours flew by without feeling overwhelming, and we were left with so many resources to continue to look through afterwards. I left feeling a part of a network, which feels invaluable as a first time mom.

Highly recommend this site for any birth-related resource!!

Took a breastfeeding class here at the recommendation of my doula, and now I truly regret not doing all of my birth prep here! What a wonderful, warm, and supportive place. Erin herself is amazing -- funny and spirited and informative, and she readily puts you at ease. I loved it so much I recommended this studio to several friends, one of whom lives in NY, for both in person and virtual care 🙂

Where do I even start..?! An absolute safe haven for new, especially first time, moms. Erin, this community & space gave me so much knowledge, peace and comradery during this crucial time. It was beautiful hearing/learning from other moms going through shared experiences while navigating our postpartum journeys together every week. Erin is a phenomenal person, educator & literal comedian with endless resources for moms and their babies. Beyond birthing provides lactation support, sleep support, mental health support, chiropractic support, grandparent support and even hosts seasonal events- so fun (literally making it a one stop shop)! I feel very fortunate to have spent my maternity leave here and look forward to returning. Such a wonderful wonderful place. Highly recommend!!! ❤️

This is a really wonderful place that has been so important to us throughout our baby journey. I am so grateful to Erin for the classes and her unwavering support. This is such a valuable resource for new parents that I believe there should be one fully funded by each town. Thank you for being there for us. I tell all the new parents to head over there!

I had no idea how much I needed the mom's group. Also, Erin is an amazing facilitator of whatever the group or individual, (mother/caretaker/ baby) needs. It's helpful to share with and listen to other women and get tips from other women in the trenches. We truly were meant to raise kids in this kind of community.

Bonus:
My daughter loves tummy time with the other babies and it's heartwarming to watch.

My wife and I first met Erin at a Spinning Babies class at Beyond Birthing while preparing for our second child, and we ended up hiring her as our doula. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Erin was incredibly supportive leading up to labor, and throughout the entire process she guided both my wife and me with calm, steady reassurance. She worked seamlessly with the team at Beverly Hospital to help get the baby in the right position, and she never left my wife’s side. Even after delivery, she stayed to assist with breastfeeding and made sure we felt comfortable before leaving.

I was surprised by how supportive she was for me as well. She answered my phone calls, talked me through concerns, and calmed me down when I was anxious. When we first decided to hire a doula, I expected the support to be primarily for my wife, but Erin truly supported both of us, which I really appreciate.

What impressed me just as much was her continued support after the birth—Erin was always responsive to our texts/calls and provided guidance whenever we needed it. I honestly cannot imagine going through the experience without her. She was invaluable not just to my wife, but to me as well. I wish we had her with us the first time around!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this beautiful review. It means the world to hear how supported you both felt throughout the process. Birth is such a shared experience, and I always want partners to feel just as seen, heard, and cared for as the birthing parent—so it truly touches me to know that the guidance, phone calls, and reassurance were helpful for you, too.I’m grateful we first connected through the Spinning Babies class and that I could walk with you both from pregnancy through labor and those first postpartum days. Supporting your family alongside the Beverly Hospital team was such an honor, and I feel so lucky to have been part of this chapter with you.

The most incredible, all-around support venue ever!!! I started going for the prenatal yoga classes and was blown away by the beautiful space, amazing people, and incredible offerings (education classes, support groups, chiropractic care, etc.) Everyone here truly cares about you and looks at you as a whole person. I feel so supported here, especially as a (soon to be) first time mom with NO IDEA about pregnancy, birth, etc. The prenatal support group has been SO AMAZING and really helps to put my mind at ease knowing I’m in good hands - plus it’s been a fun thing for my partner and I to do together. I really just can’t recommend Beyond Birthing more strongly. It is such a gem and we are so lucky to have it in our community!!

I can’t say enough about the incredible, seamless support I have benefitted from through Beyond Birthing and its owner, Erin Ronder Neves. I have a lot of wonderful people in my life but no one provided as much early postpartum help to me as Erin- her vast knowledge, gentle care and spot on sense of humor are a few things that make her fantastic. She also referred me to Kira Kim for tremendous support for my tongue & lip tied breastfeeding baby. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Erin before my first child for breastfeeding and spinning babies courses and they proved to be wildly helpful and she provided amazing postpartum support for us as second time parents this summer. We’re doing great and still using several of what we call the “Erin Methods” for everything from bottle feeding to milk storage. If you want to build your village, start with Erin.
Response from the owner 15:41 05 Sep 25
Thank you, my friend, for such a heartfelt review. It’s been such an honor to walk alongside you through both of your parenting journeys—before birth, in those early postpartum days, and beyond. I’m so glad the classes, resources, and little “Erin Methods” have been helpful for your whole family (that truly makes me smile!). I’m also grateful for the chance to connect you with Kira and others in the community—it takes a village, and I’m so glad to be part of yours.Watching you step into parenthood with so much love, humor, and resilience has been inspiring, and I’m always here cheering you on.

The weekend long course my partner and I took was wonderfully paced, illuminating, and affirming for both of us as we look toward the birth of our first child.

Erin's approachable and knowledgeable delivery of information was excellent and the supportive group environment helped to reinforce one of the through points of the course: that each person is coming to birthing as an individual first with their own set of needs and preferences.

While going through an entirely evidence based program, her extensive experience collaborating with different practices and practitioners locally helped to provide invaluable insight for each expecting couple and to shine a light on an experience we are all undertaking for the first time in a manner that made it feel less daunting.

She was receptive to questions and concerns throughout and provided a great deal of resources so that we can continue on the path of learning and preparing beyond the confines of the inviting classroom that we shared during the weekend.

We are now looking forward to attending further offerings at Beyond Birthing!

Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful review! I’m so glad to hear that the weekend course felt supportive, informative, and affirming for both you and your partner as you prepare for your first birth. It means a lot to know that the group environment, evidence-based approach, and local insight all came together in a way that felt both practical and reassuring.I’m grateful for your kind words about my teaching style and so happy the resources are helping you continue your learning beyond the classroom. It was a joy to have you both in class, and I’m truly looking forward to welcoming you back for future offerings at Beyond Birthing!

My husband and I took the two day fundamentals of birth class with Erin, the owner. Her energy and passion is truly contagious! We left feeling a little overwhelmed by all the information, because boy there is a lot, but ultimately felt knowledgeable and empowered. You are given access to a lot of resources and documents in a google classroom which is going to be a huge asset!

I appreciate the approach of ensuring we have evidence based information and that we understand what is outdated information or practices. I’ve done a lot of research on my own and this class was very validating. As an expecting FTM who wants her birth to feel like it is something I am doing and not just something that is happening to me, so much of what we covered had me feeling like I really can do this and have the experience I am looking for, whether things go as planned or not. I feel a lot more peace and excitement about my labor/birth than I did prior to taking this class.

Would highly recommend to all expecting moms out there if you want to be educated and feel like you are supported and part of a community through your pregnancy and beyond.
Response from the owner 17:05 05 Aug 25
Michaila- It was so wonderful to have you and Jared in class this weekend! Those classrooms exist so you don't need to remember everything at once, and can digest things at your own speed. Take full advantage of them! We look forward to seeing you at future classes!

I can not recommend this place enough for any new parent. As new parents we started taking the new parent education classes with Erin and additional teachers and quickly realized they have every type of perinatal support you can think of - from educational classes, support groups, prenatal massage, etc. Erin is amazing and has so much knowledge as a doula and it has made our prenatal experience a lot more comforting!
Response from the owner 16:44 05 Aug 25

Erin’s labor and delivery class was so helpful! I left feeling so much more informed about the birthing process, what my preferences are for birth, and how to advocate for myself in labor. Erin was a very warm and nonjudgmental instructor - and provided the information in an engaging and comfortable way!
Response from the owner 16:45 05 Aug 25
Lauren, it was so much fun to have you in class, and thank you so much for making the trek up here. We hope we see you again soon!

FAQs

Doula FAQs

Thinking about hiring a doula, but not sure what to expect? You’re not alone. Here are answers to some of the most common questions from new and expecting parents.

A doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Unlike a medical provider, a doula’s role is non-clinical. They’re there to advocate for you, comfort you, and help you feel informed and supported through every step.

A doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Unlike a medical provider, a doula’s role is non-clinical. They’re there to advocate for you, comfort you, and help you feel informed and supported through every step.

Doula services can include prenatal visits, continuous labor support, partner guidance, postpartum check-ins, feeding help, newborn care education, emotional support, and referrals to trusted resources. Our packages can be customized to fit your birth and postpartum goals.

A doula is not a nurse or medical provider. While some doulas may have backgrounds in healthcare, their primary role is non-medical. A doula works alongside your provider team to support you emotionally and physically without performing clinical tasks like cervical checks or fetal monitoring.

A birth doula supports you during pregnancy and labor, helping with comfort measures, breathing, movement, and decision-making. A postpartum doula helps you at home after birth, offering newborn care support, feeding guidance, emotional check-ins, and help with rest and recovery.
