Finding the right in-person childbirth class near you can feel overwhelming, especially when your time, energy, and schedule are already stretched. At Beyond Birthing, our classes are intentionally designed with you and your needs at the center.
Our classes cover what to expect with hospital policies and procedures, while also going beyond the basics to explore all of your options. Our goal is to help you feel informed, empowered, confident and fully in the driver’s seat of your body, your birth, and your experience.
All classes are intentionally small, grounded in evidence-based childbirth education, and taught by experienced providers who live and work on the North Shore. We’ve supported hundreds of families across Beverly, Salem, Danvers, Peabody, and surrounding communities, and we’re proud to be a trusted local resource. Because we are not affiliated with any single hospital or provider, we’re able to offer unbiased, honest guidance as you explore the hospital, provider, and birth preferences that are the best fit for you.
New to all of this? Give us a call for a free consultation. We’d love to learn more about what you’re looking for and help you figure out the best place to start. Whatever brings you here, there’s a class that’s right for you, and we’re here to help you find it.
Not sure where to start? Our visual journey map can guide you through each trimester and postpartum phase with classes, groups, and services mapped to your timeline.
In the very first month, your body is already working hard, even before you see that positive test. Fatigue, emotional swings, and subtle symptoms are all part of these early days.
Though the world can’t see it, your body is changing rapidly. Nausea, fatigue, and food aversions are common as your baby begins to grow.
Your emotions may feel unpredictable, as joy, worry, excitement, and fear often overlap. These feelings are normal and valid.
Your belly starts to show, and your energy may begin to rebound. With these changes come new questions about your body and your baby.
Registry planning, baby names, and nursery ideas might feel exciting or overwhelming. Remember: this is your journey—do it your way.
You may look calm and glowing on the outside, but inside, you might be processing fears or pressures. That’s okay, space for both is allowed.
As the third trimester begins, your body feels heavier and sleep may get tricky. It’s okay to lean on others and ask for help.
Hospital bags, birth plans, and visitor lists grow, alongside worries about labor. You don’t have to carry it all yourself.
Every twinge makes you wonder if it’s time. Protect your peace and trust your body’s timing.
Healing takes time. Pain management, bleeding, and latch issues are common. Lean on your support network and ask questions.
You’re finding your rhythm. Feeding routines and return‑to‑work plans take shape.
Your baby is growing fast, and so are you as a parent. From first foods to CPR, these months bring milestones and new joys.

Wondering how to register, what to bring, or whether your class is covered by insurance? Our FAQs cover everything from scheduling to payment to what to expect when you arrive
Typically, classes are taken in the second or early third trimester, but some formats (like multi-week support groups) are designed to meet families wherever they are in pregnancy. Just know you’re never too early or too late- you take it when your schedule allows and what will bring you peace of mind. All of our classes have recommended timeframes listed on each class page.
Each class has a specific focus. The “key topics/what to expect” are detailed on every class page. We do not have one class that covers all aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. We have the Core Curriculum which is made up of Foundations of Preparing for Labor & Birth, Spinning Babies® Baby Positioning Class & Comfort Measures Combo, Breastfeeding for You & Your Baby, and Newborn, New Parent & Grandparent Essentials, which was developed to give you a solid foundation of all things pregnancy through postpartum.
Absolutely! Education is power! Many parents assume classes are only for unmedicated or vaginal births, but Beyond Birthing’s prenatal education supports all birth preferences and scenarios, including planned or unplanned interventions. If you are choosing to use medication, prenatal education classes such as our Fundamentals of Preparing for Labor and Birth class share all of the options available to you, when you can request them, and how they can influence next steps in the labor and birth process.
We have a Cesarean Prep & Recovery class that we highly recommend for anyone planning a cesarean birth. There is so much that you can control in this type of birth and we would love to help you celebrate this birthday party on your terms.
We strongly encourage support partner participation to foster confidence, communication, and meaningful support. While support partners are often present in the labor and birth room, their presence can unintentionally create the expectation that they should already know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it—which should not be the assumption! It’s ok to not know what to do!
Our classes are designed to empower support partners with evidence-based education, practical tools, and accessible resources so they can confidently support their birthing partner through any part of the process. We encourage partners to attend all prenatal education classes to build shared understanding and teamwork.
Partners will learn:
Beyond Birthing’s prenatal education classes go beyond basic birth information. Our small, evidence-based classes are designed to support both the birthing person and their support partners, with time built in for discussion, questions, and personalized guidance—something often limited in hospital-based, protocol-focused sessions. Families gain practical tools, shared language, and real-life preparation that extends beyond the medical aspects of birth. We emphasize partner involvement, advocacy and communication, and ongoing community connection so families feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond. We help you understand how you can get the hospital to fit into your box, instead of the other way around.
