Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) are the number one complication of childbirth in the U.S. This course will prepare you to support your clients and yourself during the perinatal period. Join us to learn, network and have fun!
The day will be spent exploring the information together, in small groups, looking at case studies and getting comfortable with how to incorporate it into our daily work.
Objectives:
Identify the criteria for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, how they can present, and types of treatment available
Be able to appropriately communicate with clients about potential mental health concerns
Understand the role that racial disparities play in perinatal care
Identify how your work has the potential to help or do harm
Understand how relationships, including partners, can be affected by perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
